Common questions
StepWatcher shows zero steps.
StepWatcher needs permission to read Steps and Walking + Running Distance from Apple Health. On your iPhone:
- Open the Health app and tap your picture in the top right corner.
- Under Privacy, tap Apps.
- Tap StepWatcher, then turn on Steps and Walking + Running Distance.
StepWatcher's Settings tab has a Change Health Access button that walks you through the same steps.
How do I add StepWatcher to my watch face?
Touch and hold the watch face, tap Edit, and swipe to Complications. Tap a slot and choose StepWatcher. There are 14 to pick from, depending on the slot.
What does the "usual" mark mean?
It shows where your total usually is at this point in the period, averaged over recent ones: the same weekday over the past 4 weeks for D, the past 8 weeks for W, the past 6 months for M, the past two half-years for 6M, and last year for Y.
What are Rolling Ranges?
A switch in the iPhone app's Settings. With it on, History shows the past 24 hours, 7 days, month, 6 months and year. With it off, it shows today, this week, this month and so on, so far.
My goals don't match on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Open StepWatcher on the device that's behind. Goals set on one device reach the other when the app runs there.
Can I see kilometers instead of miles?
Yes. In Settings, under Units, choose Distance. Automatic follows your region.
